The Momosa tenuiflora plant goes by several names, the scientific name was changed from Mimosa hostilis to Mimosa tenuiflora, but many collectors continue to use hostilis to refer to this plant. In Mexico it is called Tebuchez, in Brazil, Jurema prita or Black Jurema.
Mimosa hostilis is a sub-tropical plant from south America and Mexico, which is highly prized for its ethnobotanical contents. The trunk bark and foliage are highly valued is ingredients for facial creams and beauty products, its roots are used for clothing dyes and more. Our mimosa plants are clone cuttings which have been carefully chosen from our 3-year-old mother plant, rooted, and planted into 4" pots with a plant height of between 10cm - 30cm. Mimosa is an extremely fast-growing plant, reaching heights of up to 2 meters in a single year and reaching reproductive maturity usually in year two. Mimosa hostilis, being a sub-tropical plant, must be sheltered and protected from the winter cold or brought inside for the winter, where it can be maintained using a LED supplementary light, and brought back outside once night time temperatures remain above 6C
